Visiting
Lago Roosevelt makes for an exciting overnight camping lternative
offered by the guide service during your fly-fishing adventure
in Patagonia, Chile. Lago Roosevelt is an entirely different
experience than what you will find on Lago Copa. The lake
has a healthy isolated population and is nhabited exclusively
with Brown Trout. The Rainbow Trout are not able to migrate
up to Lago Roosevelt due to many waterfalls on the outflow
Rio Roosevelt. Lago Roosevelt has many tributary creeks and
rivers still unexplored! The lake has abundant weed beds where
the water is shallow. Consequently, the aquatic insect life
is abundant and food for the trout plentiful. We have seen
monster browns in this lake. To date the largest landed is
twenty six inches but we have seen a few larger!
During
the course of the week a camping excursion to Lago Roosevelt
is a great option for adventure seekers! A short scenic hike/horse
trail is the only access to this remote lake. A boat is always
ready and waiting for the anglers upon arrival at the lake.
A beautiful beach on Lago Roosevelt makes for a comfortable
campsite.
Our
camps our catered with fine equipment. Tents, air mattresses,
a good tarp, chairs, picnic table, a hot shower, a good campfire
and excellent drink and cuisine are all provided.
