Travelling to The Dragonfly Lodge fly-fishing adventure and guide service in Patagonia, Chile is easy.

The trip is six days and six nights from Sunday evening to Saturday afternoon every calendar week from mid December, January, February, March, until mid April of each calendar year.
 
 
SATURDAY

Guests usually arrive in Santiago, Chile on Saturday morning
and take the day to relax and acclimatize. We can recommend accommodations, tours etc in Santiago upon request.

SUNDAY

If you prefer, you may arrive in Santiago early Sunday morning in time to catch Lan Chile Airlines 1:00pm flight to Balmaceda airport. This connection is easy with most major airlines.

Guests should arrive at 4:15 pm Sunday afternoon and will be met by one of their guides or hosts at the Balmaceda Airport that services Coyhaique, XI Region, Chile. Guests will spend Sunday night in Coyhaique, dine, and prepare for the following days adventure!

 
 
 
MONDAY

Monday morning the group will embark on a scenic two and one half hour drive to the Rio Picacho. Upon arrival the catboats will be ready to go. As soon as fly lines are rigged, the group will be off to float quietly down the river in search of fish and a comfortable lunch spot. Guests can easily float/motor and fish their way the thirty-five kilometres down river to the lodge in one day.

 
 
 
TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY

The lodge is situated in the heart of the fishery and there are many diverse waters to fish minutes away! Lagoons, tributary creeks, the river, and the incredible lake all constitute your daily menu of fishing opportunities once you are based from the lodge. The average size of resident Brown and Rainbow Trout around the lodge is impressive!

 
 
 
SATURDAY
Our customized catboats and jet crafts will provide transportation safely and quickly up the river to the trucks. Guests can catch the 5:00pm flight from Balmaceda to Santiago Saturday evening after transferring to Coyhaique from the lodge. Please note: the 5:00 pm flight, or late flight, is the only flight possible to catch Saturday evening, no earlier. For those desiring a more relaxed pace, we recommend accommodations in Coyhaique for Saturday night. Your national and international flights home can commence leisurely on Sunday. SUNDAY

Guests can depart from Balmaceda Airport Sunday morning to Santiago and their further connections.
